I’m Mike Smith, owner of 101 Home Buyers. I’ve lived in Oregon for over 35 years. This is my home, and I invest in real estate here because I care about our community.

I graduated from Western Oregon University and served our state and nation in the Oregon Army National Guard. My service included both local missions, such as fighting forest fires in Eastern Oregon, and national missions, including a combat tour in Iraq in 2005. I’ve worked locally in the agriculture industry and have also served our community as a Deputy Sheriff. I’ve been renovating houses since 2010.

I’m supported by my wife, my son Nolan, my daughter Lacey, one great cat, one terrible cat, and two Mini Rex bunnies.

Today I serve the coast as a local real estate investor. When I buy a house, I’m not just investing in a piece of property, I’m investing in the community itself. I employ local contractors, roofers, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, and landscapers to make tired houses beautiful again.

When a house is renovated, it can help lift the value of nearby properties simply by improving the quality of the neighborhood. But my renovations don’t just look pretty, they also increase the value of the property, which grows the tax base that pays for ours schools, roads, and public safety.

And once we’ve made a tired house beautiful again, I sell it to a new owner so they can turn it into a home. A place to kick up their feet after a long day at work, a place where where kids will take their first steps and learn to ride bikes, a place where gardens will grow and meals will be cooked.
